With a Bachelors and Masters in Electrical Engineering from Drexel University, USA, Dorji Pavo Phuntshok currently heads the Projects Department, Druk Green Power Corporation Limited since 2008. Between September 2016 and April 2019, he was deputed by the Royal Government of Bhutan as the Joint Managing Director for 1,200 MW Punatsangchhu I Hydroelectric Project Authority and 1,020 MW Punatsangchhu II Hydroelectric Project Authority for completion of tasks in both organisations struggling with challenges.
In the last 30 years of service, Dorji Pavo Phuntshok has served in various hydropower development aspects, including serving as the Chief Engineer during the construction stage of 1,020 MW Tala Hydroelectric Project. Among his various initiatives, he started Projects Department, established Bhutan Hydropower Services Limited and Centers of Excellence and introduced WMO Performance Benchmarking and Being Green initiative in DGPC. While with DGPC, he held additional charges as the Chief Executive Officer for Dagachhu Hydro Power Corporation Limited and the Managing Director for Tangsibji Hydro Energy Limited.
