Kencho Gyeltshen currently heads both Basochhu Hydropower Plant and Operation & Maintenance Services Centre. Before that, he headed Tala Hydropower Plant. In his more than 20 years of service since joining Kurichhu Hydro Power Corporation in 2001, he has served in both operation and maintenance of the Company, including heading the Operation and Maintenance of Tala Hydropower Plant. He has a Bachelor in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from PSG College of Technology, India, and a Master in Electrical Engineering from the University of New Brunswick, Canada.
Yeshi Tenzin
Director, Operation and Maintenance Department
Yeshi Tenzin is currently the Director, Operations and Maintenance Department, Druk Green Power Corporation Limited since 2020. Between April 2018 to June 2020, he was deputed to Mangdechhu Hydroelectric Project Authority as the Chief Engineer from DGPC to assist the project authority in the erection, testing and commissioning of the project, and setting up the project’s operations and maintenance team. He has served in DGPC since 2008 in various capacities as Heads of Plants of the Tala, Chhukha and Kurichhu Hydropower Plants. He has a Bachelor in Mechanical Engineering from the Delhi College of Engineering, Delhi University, New Delhi, India and Master of Science in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Texas at El Paso, USA.
Rinchen Wangdi
Interim Head, Kurichhu Hydropower Plant
Rinchen Wangdi currently heads Kurichhu Hydropower Plant. He concurrently heads the Maintenance Division of the power plant. Before that, he worked at the Centre of Excellence for Automation, Control & Protection Division, HRDC. He has a Bachelor of Engineering in Electronics & Communication Engineering from Visvesvaraya Technological University, Karnataka, India, and a Master of Engineering in Electrical Power and Energy Engineering from TGGS, King Mongkut’s University of Technology, Thailand.
Sonam Wangdi
Chief Engineer, Mangdechhu Hydropower Plant
Sonam Wangdi currently heads Mangdechhu Hydropower Plant. Before that, he headed the Operation and Maintenance Circle for Mangdechhu Hydroelectric Project Authority. Since his career began in 2004, he was attached to various posts in maintenance and operation of hydropower plants. He has a Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering (Electrical) from Motilal Nehru National Institute of Technology, Allahabad, India, and a Masters in Engineering (Instrumentation Control and Automation) from Edith Cowan University, Australia.
Younten Jamtsho

Younten Jamtsho currently heads Tala Hydropower Plant. Before that, he headed the Operation and Maintenance Circle at THP. Since his joining Tala Hydroelectric Project Authority in December 2001, he has served in various positions in the operation and maintenance of the Tala project. He has a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from Regional Engineering College, Warangal, Andra Pradesh, India.
