Training on risk management

A Risk Management Training aligned with ISO 31000 standards was tutored and trained by Bureau of Veritas & Certification (BVC), Kolkata in Thimphu from October 25 to 27, 2016.

Risk Champions of departments and hydropower plants under Druk Green attended the training, including representatives from Bhutan Hydropower Services Limited and Dagachhu Hydropower Corporation Limited.

Dasho Chhewang Rinzin, Managing Director, Druk Green attended the opening session where Dasho highlighted the importance of risk management and emphasized on how the success of the company depends on sorting out the external and internal potential events. Dasho also spoke on the issues of risk management in the hydropower projects.

The three-day training included advocacy on the three ISO standards namely, ISO 31000: 2009 terms & definitions, ISO 31000:2009 Principal & guidelines and ISO 31000: 2009 Framework & Risk Management processes. Risk management methods like Failure Mode & Effects Analysis (FMEA), Hazard Analysis principle (HACCP), Committee of Sponsoring organization (COSO) framework and Critical control points (CCPS) hazard evaluation on procedures were also discussed.

Druk Green is the first among all DHI-owned companies to be equipped with certified internal auditors for risk management.
