DHyE Signs Contract for Electro-Mechanical Works Package for the 90 MW Jomori Hydropower Project

Thimphu, 5 September 2026: Druk Hydro Energy Limited (DHyE), a subsidiary of Druk Green Power Corporation Limited (DGPC), entered into a Contract Agreement with M/s Voith Hydro Private Limited for the design, manufacture, supply, installation, erection, testing and commissioning of electro-mechanical (E&M) equipment for the 90 MW Jomori Hydropower Project. The E&M Contract, valued at BTN/INR 2,289 million, is being financed through a concessional loan from the JICA – Japan International Cooperation Agency.

The award of the E&M contract marks another significant milestone in the development of the Jomori project. Construction of the major civil works, including the dam, headrace tunnel and powerhouse has already commenced under the contracts awarded to M/s Rigsar Construction Pvt. Ltd. and M/s Construction Development Corporation Ltd (CDCL).

The contract signing ceremony was attended by senior management of DGPC/DHyE and representatives of Voith Hydro Private Limited.
