DHyE Signs Contract for Electro-Mechanical Works Package for the 500 kW Lunana Hydropower Project

Thimphu, 5 September 2026: Druk Hydro Energy Limited (DHyE), a subsidiary of Druk Green Power Corporation Limited (DGPC), entered into a Contract Agreement for the design, manufacture, supply, installation, erection, testing and commissioning of electro-mechanical equipment for the 500 kW Lunana Mini Hydropower Project.

The E&M contract for the 500 kW Lunana project valued at Nu. 210 million was entered into with Bhutan Engineering Power Company Private Limited (BEPCPL) in association with GH Energy Private Limited, India. The Lunana project is financed by the Government of India.

This contract signing marks a key milestone for the Lunana project. With civil and hydro-mechanical works already started, the timeline for the project commissioning is very tight with project completion scheduled for the end of 2027.

The senior management of DGPC and representatives from BEPCPL attended the signing ceremony.
