DGPC is committed to contribute towards fuelling the energy needs of Bhutan and the region by harnessing the energy in an environmentally and socially sustainable manner. DGPC supports social emancipation and community vitality through various initiatives of its own and also in collaboration with other partners.
DGPC recognises the importance of protection of catchments as it provides steady precipitation – a perennial source of water for the river system. Further, preservation of the catchments reduces soil erosion, which would otherwise decrease the life of underwater equipment of DGPC plants.
