Tshewang Dorji
Tshewang Dorji, General Manager, Human Resource and Administration Division

Tshewang Dorji is currently the General Manager, Human Resource and Administration Division, Druk Green Power Corporation Limited, since 2021. Over the last 27 years, Tshewang Dorji served in various capacities both in public and corporate sector. He served as chief in various department under National Pension and Provident fund. He also served as Chief Prevention Officer at Anti-Corruption Commission and Senior Human Resource Officer at Ministry of Education. He began his career as Trainee/HR officer under Ministry of Trade and Industry in 1994. He has a Masters in Human Resource Development from the University of Canberra, Australia and Bachelors Degree in Economics-Math from Sherubtse College, Bhutan.

Kuenga Tshering
General Manager, Chhukha Hydropower Plant

Kuenga Tshering currently heads Chhukha Hydropower Plant. He has worked in various capacities as a maintenance engineer and project manager and headed the dam division and the operation and maintenance division of power plants across DGPC before the current appointment. He has a Bachelor of Engineering from Guru Ghasidas Vishwavidyalaya, India, and a Master of Engineering (Mechanical) from Edith Cowan University, Perth, Australia.

Rinchen Wangdi
General Manager, Kurichhu Hydropower Plant

Rinchen Wangdi currently heads Kurichhu Hydropower Plant. He concurrently heads the Maintenance Division of the power plant. Before that, he worked at the Centre of Excellence for Automation, Control & Protection Division, HRDC. He has a Bachelor of Engineering in Electronics & Communication Engineering from Visvesvaraya Technological University, Karnataka, India, and a Master of Engineering in Electrical Power and Energy Engineering from TGGS, King Mongkut’s University of Technology, Thailand.

Sonam Wangdi
General Manager, Mangdechhu Hydropower Plant

Sonam Wangdi currently heads Mangdechhu Hydropower Plant. Before that, he headed the Operation and Maintenance Circle for Mangdechhu Hydroelectric Project Authority. Since his career began in 2004, he was attached to various posts in maintenance and operation of hydropower plants. He has a Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering (Electrical) from Motilal Nehru National Institute of Technology, Allahabad, India, and a Masters in Engineering (Instrumentation Control and Automation) from Edith Cowan University, Australia.

Younten Jamtsho
General Manager, Tala Hydropower Plant

Younten Jamtsho currently heads Tala Hydropower Plant. Before that, he headed the Operation and Maintenance Circle at THP. Since his joining Tala Hydroelectric Project Authority in December 2001, he has served in various positions in the operation and maintenance of the Tala project. He has a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from Regional Engineering College, Warangal, Andra Pradesh, India.

Chador Tenzin
General Manager, Druk Green Consultancy

Chador Tenzin currently heads Druk Green Consultancy under Projects Department. Druk Green Consultancy has been entrusted to provide consultancy services related to hydropower development spanning from investigation, preparation of pre-feasibility studies, feasibility/detailed project report and engineering services for the construction of hydropower projects. He has more than 20 years of experience in the field of hydropower planning & engineering, operation & maintenance of hydropower plant, contract & project management and supervision of hydropower construction.

He has a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering from Regional Engineering College, Surat, South Gujarat University, Gujarat, India, and a Master’s degree in Engineering Management from Yokohama National University, Yokohama, Japan.

Dr. Lhendup Namgyal
General Manager, Hydropower Research and Development Centre

Dr. Lhendup Namgyal currently heads the Hydropower Research and Development Centre. Before that, he headed the then Centre of Excellence for Vibration and Thermography Analysis (CoEVaTA) and the Centre of Excellence for Gates and Instrumentation for Civil Structures (CoEGICs).

He has a Bachelor of Engineering (Mechanical) from S.V Regional College of Engineering and Technology, South Gujurat University, India, and a PhD in Mechanical Engineering from the University of New Brunswick, Canada.

Karma Phuntsho
General Manager, Operation & Maintenance Services Centre

Karma Phuntsho currently heads Operation & Maintenance Services Centre. Before that, he headed Dagachhu hydropower plant. He has more than 20 years of experience in the implementation and O&M of hydropower plants.  He also has experience in energy trading and clean development mechanism activities.

He has a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from the University of Kerala, India, and a Master’s in Energy from the Asian Institute of Technology, Thailand.
